Demonstrating your value online since 2005

Degas Guruve helps our clients tell their stories and make their marks with a range of custom-designed web sites.

Jeremy Walker, Degas Guruve Web Design AgencyIt’s founded by myself, Jeremy Walker, who you’ll find yourself dealing with as hands-on lead for most projects or liaising with specialist colleagues when we need an extended team.

Sometimes it’s ‘me’ and other times it’s ‘we’, but the aim is always the same. That’s to bring your ideas to life, then convert interest into tangible, profitable results.

We know how important it is to deliver on time and within budget. And we’ve been around long enough to know this business is as much about people and relationships as it is about aesthetics and technology.

What’s with a website today?

Once it was simply about having a website, then offering one with answers.

Nowadays it’s about attractive fast-loading sites that convert across today’s mix of devices. Your site is the centre of your wider web presence, working to generate interest, leads and sales.

A good business website should be a clear reflection of your company and values. It’s central to your brand identity, reputation and how customers perceive you. You’ll show you understand your market and have the offerings and expertise your visitors are looking for.

Your site is about your customersPurposeful goals keep you on the right side of the sanity/vanity divide. Copy-led sites convert better. But as the first point of call for most potential customers, your site is nothing without visitors. Whichever way you get them, you’ll want them to take the actions that give you results – either now, or along the way. This means addressing their needs, desires and issues.

Who do we work with?

New companies, organisations and individuals looking to build their first web site, requiring web design and content management setups, ecommerce facilities, particular functionalities or marketing input.

And those already established, looking to improve on their existing features, visual appeal, content handling and online returns.

Much of our work is for repeat clients who value our clear explanations, direct interaction, quick responses and – as you’d expect – keeping up with the ways of the web to give you a competitive edge.

Smart sites done rightAfter the initial discovery/planning there’s structure, functionality, content and copy with branding, marketing and any sales considerations. Plus of course SEO, usability, appearance, responsive adjustments and social media tie-ins. There’s much more to an effective site than just building it!

How do we work together?

Reaching a shared understanding of your offerings, ideas and objectives helps us find the best fit for your requirements and budget.

We’ll carry this through for the site design, functionality, and features, working with you to generate content and liasing with any specialist colleagues as we go.

Your site is finished once we’re both happy it gets your message across, demonstrates the value you offer and clearly encourages the desired visitor actions. We’re then available to continue supporting and maintaining it moving forwards.

Almost all our current sites are built with WordPress, the world’s most popular CMS (Content Management System).

Cost-effective and highly scaleable, WordPress allows us to deliver flexible, secure user-friendly platforms to meet your specific requirements.

So, how much is a website?

Your website is fundamentally central to your business. As an investment, it’s crucial to concentrate on the value it produces as a sales/marketing and reputational tool.

The scope and scale of each particular project determine our costs. For us this isn’t a low-cost item to be done as cheaply as possible, you get what you pay for. All our websites are uniquely custom crafted, with most new sites starting from £1,750 + VAT.

No hidden extrasOur fees are usually quoted on a fixed project basis, with any extra costs flagged as we go. We aren’t the fastest or the cheapest but will treat you fairly, respect agreed timescales and take good care.

How long does it take for a new site?

We usually aim for 6-12 weeks, or to fit with reasonable deadlines. This depends on content readiness, ongoing feedback plus the complexity and functionality involved.

Support? You’ve got it!

Each project receives the attention it deserves, from initial scope to launch and beyond. Once the site is ready you’ll have the guidance you need to help familiarise with the site workings.

We stay connected with most of our clients and continue to support and maintain our work together, so you’re never on your own!

What’s in a name?

Degas Guruve first surfaced in an early sketchbook before giving its name to a digital showcase ahead of our current web agency incarnation. There’s a definite nod to the pure rush of T.Rex’s ‘Metal Guru’ which first flicked a young boy’s light switch.
